“Franklin Alumni and Friends” Annual Golf Tournament—UPDATE!

Needless to say, COVID took a toll in many ways in 2020, and persists. It eliminated our Annual Golf Tourney in 2020--along with most group activities here and around the world.

The Alumni Golf Committee was looking forward very much to firing up our annual event this September --September 9th to be exact. We were excited to gather alums and friends at Jefferson Park on Beacon Hill.

As we continued to gather information from the City of Seattle who runs Jefferson Park Golf Course, it appeared that the possibility was “iffy” for an event like this with, a) an outside tournament of 100 plus participants, and b) gathering our group in the banquet area for our post event social. The social is a very important segment of our “reunion” gathering and the possibility of not being able to hold it would have altered the event.    

In the end, the committee punted and again postponed the 2021 Golf Tournament, with an extreme amount of thought and compassion for all.
