2025 Hall of Fame Inductees
The Franklin Alumni Association & Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025 Hall of Fame inductees. The Franklin Hall of Fame was established in 1992. Additional inductions took place in 1998, 2001, 2004. Since 2013 they have taken place at the spring annual meeting and Hall of Fame Celebration. More information on the Hall of Fame here.

Linda Lau, Class of 1966
Born and raised in Seattle, Linda Lau grew up in the family business, the first mechanized Chinese laundry in the state. After high school, she worked as a personnel manager, which spurred her interest in the law.
She served as an attorney in the Criminal Division and Civil Division of the King County Prosecutor’s Office and a partner in private practice with a Seattle law firm handling its general litigation practice.
Later, she spent several years as a trial judge on the Seattle Division of the King County District Court bench.
Following that are the 13 years she served as a trial court judge on the King County Superior Court bench where she thrived on the variety and complexity of criminal and civil cases, including over 7 years as a trial judge on the asbestos litigation panel.
In 2008, Governor Christine Gregoire appointed Judge Linda Lau to Division One of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division 1.
Judge Lau holds the distinction of being the first Asian American woman to sit on the bench of the above three judgeships.
In her spare time, she shares her culinary skills at soup kitchens, from food prep to serving hot, tasty meals.
Amy Hill, Class of 1971
Amy Hill’s television and film credits number over 200. Many know my her from her memorable turns in “Fifty First Dates”, or Ice Cube’s neighbor in “Next Friday “. She was recurring on "Crazy Ex Girlfriend", “UnReal”, "Preacher” and “MOM”. She was a regular on NBC’s Magnum PI as KUMU for 5 seasons, as MAMA P on 4 seasons of Amazon Prime’s “Just Add Magic” and has been a regular on multiple series on cable and network TV. As a voice actor, she’s been heard as recurring or regular voice characters on numerous animated series or films including Kung Fu Panda (series), American Dad, and next season on Freeform’s “Praise Petey”.
She’s also worked with regional theaters such as The Mark Taper Forum, Berkeley Rep, Seattle Rep, Actors Theater of Louisville, The Public Theater in NYC and appeared on Broadway in Lincoln Center’s Twelfth Night that also aired on PBS’ Live from Lincoln Center. She is proud to consider East West Players as her LA Theater “home” where she has also performed, directed and taught. Her latest theatrical adventure was as the title character of Shakespeare’s Cymbeline with NAATCO which received glowing reviews in the New York Times.
“Mack and Rita”, starring Diane Keaton, marked a joyful return to the big screen in 2022. Her recent project, the live action “Lilo and Stitch” is due out in May this year. She is just completed filming a new untitled series on Amazon prime with Maggie Q.
Angela D. Brooks, Class of 1992
Angela D. Brooks, FAICP, has dedicated her career to ensuring that every person has a safe, decent, and affordable place to live and thrive. As the newly appointed Chief Housing Officer for the City of Philadelphia and immediate past national president of the American Planning Association, she continues to advance this mission through policy and practice.
Brooks serves on several influential bodies, including the Chicago Board of Zoning Appeals and the Illinois Affordable Housing Advisory Commission. As co-chair of the national Housing Supply Accelerator, she works with communities across the country to meet their residents' housing needs. Before relocating to Chicago, she served on the Seattle Planning Commission, King County Boundary Review Board, and the State of Washington Commission on African American Affairs.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Jackson State University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of New Orleans.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Brooks is a kidney donor and passionate advocate working to increase minority participation in organ donation
